THE EXCHANGE BLDG., DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS
Downtown Memphis has some impressive architecture! This beautiful one...The Exchange Building...is a 19 story Beaux Arts style building, located at the corner of 2nd Street and Madison Avenue in downtown Memphis. It was formerly known as the Cotton Exchange Building and the Merchants Exchange Building.
The building was designed by Neander Montgomery Woods, and completed in 1910. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The building is listed as the Memphis Merchants Exchange in the National Register of Historic Places listing in Shelby County TN.
It is now used as a mixed use building with hotel units and residential apartments.
