CHARLIE VERGOS' RENDEZVOUS, DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS

Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous opened in 1948 in a basement below his diner. Located in an alley across from the famous Peabody Hotel, it has since become a mecca for pork BBQ goodness. People come from all over the world to "pig out" on their signature rack of ribs. Wet or dry? I get dry and slather them with sauce. I love their cheese and sausage appetizer plates too. The Rendezvous also has the distinction of being the destination of my first dinner date as a teenager, NOT accompanied by parental units. 😊
